Artists in Residence
Lea County Commission for the Arts and the Hobbs Municipal Schools have partnered to provide an Artist in Residence program for the Gifted and Talented Elementary Students in grades 4, 5, and 6. This program took place the first week in November 2009 and each day an artist demonstrated and taught their art skills to the students. David Sadler, stone sculptor, and his students worked with stone, Meredith Smith taught drawing, Ann Evans worked with clay, Carrie Swenson, a member of the Pastel Society of America, taught pastel, and Carol Hammond taught watercolor.
