Gift Shoppe Guidelines
- The artist is to be a member of the Lea County Commission for the Arts to exhibit at the Center for the Arts Gift Shoppe. (Friend of the Arts annual membership $25). The artist does not have to be a resident of Lea County to exhibit or to be a member.
- All artwork must be for sale. Limit is 5 pieces per artist. If space remains after entries (5 per artist) are received, additional pieces of artwork will be approved by the staff of the Center for the Arts. No limit for cards, matted artwork, small ceramics (under 6" x 6" x 6") and jewelry. The available space and the number of artwork pieces entered may dictate the number of unlimited items accepted for display.
- Two-dimensional artwork must be framed and properly wired for hanging or matted and protected by shrink-wrap or clear bags (We have special racks for matted artwork). Small to medium size pieces preferred.
- Please, no personal business cards are to be placed on the artwork. Your card will be made available separate from the artwork.
- The Lea County Commission for the Arts/Center for the Arts commission is 20%.
- Each artist is responsible for paying their gross receipts tax on their sales. We do not collect tax.
- Work will be hung and displayed by the Center for the Arts staff and appointed volunteers.
- Each artist will complete a master sheet listing his or her inventory. This list will be used to record sales. Each entry MUST be given a title or description for identification. As items are sold the artist can replace them.
- The artist will mark an Avery dot with their initials, number of artwork entry, and price, and place it on the piece to be displayed. The number on the dot must match the number on their master list. The dot placed on the entry will be removed from the artwork when sold and placed on the yellow copy of the receipt.
- A receipt will be written for each sale.
- No artwork is to be removed without checking it out through the staff of the Center for the Arts.
