Ben Jaime, Community Relations Manager of Xcel Energy, presents Carol Hammond, Lea County Commission for the Arts, a grant of $3000 from Xcel Energy Foundation for the purchase of an ELMO all-in-one classroom cart for use with both youth and adult classes held at the Center for the Arts. It includes a document camera linked to a LCD projector that projects an image onto a screen for the classroom to see. The equipment will allow the teacher give an exceptional visual presentation. The Center for the Arts is located at 122 W Broadway in downtown Hobbs. (October 2011)

Lea County Commission for the Arts has been selected by the R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard Foundation, Ruidoso, New Mexico, to receive a grant of $3,000 in response to a request to the Foundation’s Southeast New Mexico Grant Program. (November 2009)
