Ray Baker
Artist of the Month for March and April 2011
Ray Baker operated a photography studio in Hobbs for many years and when he sold his studio he began his career in fine art. He had taken one class in airbrush in art school and with time available upon retirement he seriously began working in this medium.
He has been a member of the Llano Estacado Art Association for ten years and won first place in their Fall Open Art Show in October 2010 with his airbrush painting Lonely Isle. He uses special acrylic paints for his airbrush work and works in his home studio. He is also a member of the Lea County Commission for the Arts and is an active supporter of the arts in Hobbs.
