Artist of the Month for March and April 2009
I’ve loved creating things since childhood. I’m a visual learner by seeing and by doing. I remember what I see in detail. My work reflects my varying interests and general curiosity. I constantly explore new subjects, styles and media and have learned that by pushing beyond my safety and comfort zones, I can make discoveries. Learning jewelry making with some old heirloom pieces is my current interest under the guidance of Jean Peter, friend and instructor.
My degree is in elementary Education from the University of Colorado. Art classes began at local colleges wherever we lived; calligraphy at New Mexico Highlands University. Las Vegas, NM; watercolor at the University of New Mexico, Gallup, NM; photography, at San Juan College, Farmington, NM; ceramics, digital photography and pastel, at New Mexico Junior College, Hobbs, NM.
